Our Story

The beginning of Canoe Wild

Canoe Wild started in 2013 as a small family-run business on the scenic River Stour. With just six canoes, a trailer, and a genuine passion for paddle sports, we set out to offer peaceful canoe trips at Fordwich. Word soon spread, and we quickly became a favourite summer activity.

As demand grew, we expanded into kayaking, paddleboarding, raft building, and other guided trips. Our original base at the George and Dragon pub became too small, so we moved across the river to a bigger site - where we are today. We also developed a site at Grove Ferry, which gave us more space for activities and created local employment opportunities. Over the years, we’ve earned several TripAdvisor awards, reflecting the memorable experiences our customers enjoy year after year.

Looking Forward

Canoe Wild’s future is full of exciting plans. We’ve recently relaunched our popular sea kayaking trips and are keen to expand further into coastal adventures, with plenty more surprises on the horizon.
