We are based at two different locations shown below: Fordwich and Grove Ferry,
Canoe Wild runs a free shuttle between the two sites and we are happy to return you back to your car or Sturry train station after your paddle.
This is a flexible courtesy service, we are also happy to pick up anyone staying at the Nethergong campsite who wants to hire from us.
GROVE FERRY PICNIC SITE CT3 4BP
There is parking available at the site, charging £1.30 on Weekdays and £2.00 on Weekends.
The Grove Ferry Picnic Site includes toilets with disabled access, a children's play park and is located just around the corner from the family friendly Grove Ferry Inn.
FORDWICH (NEAR THE GEORGE & DRAGON PUB) CT2 0DB
Park on the main Fordwich road on the side opposite to the George & Dragon and walk down the track to your left just before the bridge.
Our site provides access suitable for wheelchairs and is child friendly.
Bus number 8 runs every 15 minutes from Canterbury to Sturry. From Sturry centre, follow the signs to walk down Fordwich Road.
The nearest pub to Fordwich is The George and Dragon CT2 0DB. There is ample parking on the main Fordwich road. Our site does not have vehicle access so please do park there and walk to our location. If you have booked a meal at the George and Dragon, parking is available in the pub car park.
Grove Ferry Picnic Site CT3 4BP – The Picnic Site has 2 pay and display car parks with a large number of spaces.
WALK OR CYCLE
The Stour Valley walk runs the same course as the cycle route and will take about 50 minutes from Canterbury. Take the national cycle route 1 which is 2.5 miles from Canterbury to Fordwich. The map opposite gives a clear view of your routes.
Sturry train station is on the main line to London and the first station out of Canterbury West. Turn to head to Canterbury coming out of the station and follow the signs to Fordwich.
